After completing 6 years of studies at the Lycée Jeanne et Paul Augier, I learned that everyone can succeed, you just have to give yourself the means. I started with a Professional Baccalaureate in cooking, which I obtained with honors. Pushed and supported by my family, I embarked on 2 additional years of study in a BTS in hospitality and catering, option B, supervised by top teachers, which I obtained two years later. I finally concluded my school career with an MCCDR (Complementary Mention of Restaurant Dessert Cook) with teachers invested in their professions who allowed me to learn a lot about pastry making. I do not regret in any way the choices I was able to make because it allowed me to progress enormously in my personal and professional life.

Coming from a literary background, I chose to focus on hospitality and joined the Hotel School. It was then the beginning of a beautiful academic but above all human story. From the three years of training I especially keep the memory of dynamic, invested teachers who have the particularity of wanting to help their students develop by pushing them to give the best of themselves. I was also able to see the beneficial effects of the training by winning the David Campbell Junior Trophy from the AICR and the Tourist Innovation Trophy from the Skal Club. Currently I work in Community Management and I take care of the social networks of several high-end hotels in Europe, while continuing to discover the different facets of this beautiful industry.

With my BTS in hand, I followed this with a year of a Bachelor's degree before going to work in London in a 5-star hotel as a head waiter. Paul Augier allowed me to flourish in this sector, thanks in particular to my internship in Chile. The professors are also very involved in the student's progress and journey. There is a good atmosphere every day. My years at Jeanne and Paul Augier were my best years of study.

After my BTS, I continued with a professional training contract to acquire more skills. I then chose to go abroad again, notably to the United States as a Head Waiter. During these 2 years of BTS, I appreciated the investment of the professors, and the trips to Switzerland and Milan that we made. Working with professors with solid professional experience and good advice to apply in business is a real plus!

Why prepare for the BTS MHR at the Jeanne et Paul Augier high school?

The holder of the BTS MHR is called upon to fulfill management and team supervision functions in the hotel and catering or accommodation and leisure activities sector.

 

Depending on the BTS MHR option, he will carry out activities in the fields of catering, culinary production or accommodation.

 

This open and general training will allow those who have proven themselves in the field to progress in the profession, up to management positions. They will also be able to take over a company in their field or take on more responsibilities within their organization.

Durée de la formation

  • Formation en 2 ans pour les candidats titulaires du baccalauréat STHR (Sciences et Technologies de l'Hôtellerie Restauration)

  • Formation en 3 ans pour les candidats titulaires d'un baccalauréat général ou technologique : passage obligatoire par la classe de Mise A Niveau

L​a formation

1ère année du BTS MHR : pas de spécialisation, tronc commun

2ème année du BTS : choix entre trois options (Restauration, Production Culinaire, Hébergement)

Le contenu de la formation

1ère année

  • Pas de spécialisation, un tronc commun aux 3 classes de première année BTS MHR

  • 32h d'enseignement par semaine

  • 16 semaines de stage en entreprise

 

2ème année

  • Spécialisation selon trois options possibles : Option A  Management d'unité de restauration, Option B Management d'unité de production culinaire, Option C Management d'unité d'hébergement

  • 30h d'enseignements par semaine
